Job Description

Innodata is hiring a Gen AI Engineer for a prompt-engineering team that automates data annotation and human evaluation with large language models. The role designs prompt strategies for labeling, localization, and translation, and is remote in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement prompts for data labeling and localization inside software applications.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, linguists, and localization experts on accuracy and cultural relevance.
  • Prototype and validate AI models to show feasibility, impact, and effectiveness.
  • Run user testing and feedback analysis to improve prompt design for data accuracy and linguistic consistency.
  • Analyze model performance against customer acceptance criteria and quality metrics.
  • Build data pipelines and workflows that integrate LLMs into automated annotation systems.
  • Create guidelines and training materials for prompt use on labeling and localization projects.
  • Explain technical findings and performance results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 2 years of prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, or related AI/ML work.
  • Familiarity with annotation and human-in-the-loop platforms such as Labelbox.
  • Experience designing and automating data annotation workflows.
  • Deep understanding of transformer-based large language models.
  • Demonstrated experience using LLMs programmatically for labeling, classification, localization, and annotation.
  • Strong Python for NLU, data processing, and statistical analysis, plus familiarity with JSON, JavaScript, or XML.
  • Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jupyter, and LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Hugging Face.
  • Knowledge of localization practice and of LLM evaluation metrics, including reliability, bias, and generalizability.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, and model deployment.

Benefits

  • Expected salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 CAD per year, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
