Job Description

AUTOMATTERS is hiring a Prompt Engineer to put language models and AI agents into industrial and B2B customer processes, from quote creation and order entry through accounting. The role is full-time and on-site in Wilnsdorf, near Siegen, Germany. Career changers with a strong technical interest are welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and optimize prompts, prompt chains, and AI agents for quote creation, order entry, document processing, and sales.
  • Build test cases, measure error rates, evaluate outputs, and improve prompts.
  • Connect language models to customer systems and data sources through interfaces and automation platforms.
  • Design AI solutions with developers, project managers, and management.
  • Maintain a documented prompt and workflow library so solutions stay reusable and traceable.
  • Monitor live AI automations, analyze errors, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Act as the technical contact for customers on how AI is used.

Requirements

  • Completed training or a degree in IT, or demonstrable experience with AI and automation. Career changers with a strong interest are welcome.
  • Practical daily experience with language models and AI tools, ideally including prompt techniques for more complex tasks.
  • Structured process thinking: recognize patterns and turn them into traceable solutions.
  • Basic technical understanding of APIs and data formats. Programming experience is an advantage.
  • German at C1 level, spoken and written, for customer communication.
  • Reliable, quick to learn, and comfortable working independently in a team.
  • Live in Wilnsdorf, Siegen, or the surrounding area, including Siegerland, Olpe, Dillenburg, and Wetzlar, or be willing to relocate. The role is on-site.
