Citizenly is looking for an outstanding full stack engineer with experience or interest in web scraping, data algorithms and AI, particularly with experience or interest in Prompt Engineering.
You’ll be responsible for crafting effective prompts that guide our data extraction algorithms, ensuring the most complete and updated lists of all elected officials, political candidates, and government agencies.
Our team is small but mighty, with a shared passion for building a platform that improves the citizen experience while tackling issues of misinformation and abusive behavior online.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine prompts tailored to improve the accuracy and efficiency of web data extraction.
- Ensure data is captured by providing prompts that cover various web sources and scenarios.
- Analyze and categorize web sources.
- Work on continual improvement of prompt-based strategies for web scraping.
- Adapt prompts for site structure changes, anti-scraping measures, and variations in data presentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of an AI strategy, possibly with outside vendors.
- Conduct testing of prompts and identify challenges in data extraction.
- Propose adjustments to maintain robust scraping pipelines.
- Collaborate with data engineers and developers to align strategies with project objectives.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices.
Requirements
- Must be located in the US and able to work without sponsorship.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, software engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in web-scraping and data extraction.
- Strong understanding of HTML structure, CSS selectors, and web-based technologies.
- Familiarity with our tech stack.
- Prior experience with Flutter is strongly desired.
