We are seeking a highly skilled Prompt Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of prompt engineering techniques, language models, and the ability to design and optimise prompts for various applications. This role involves working closely with researchers and developers to improve the performance, safety, and capabilities of large language models (LLMs) through advanced prompt engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop effective prompts for various tasks, including text summarization, information extraction, question answering, and code generation.
- Optimise and experiment with prompt settings to improve the reliability and desirability of LLM outputs.
- Implement and evaluate different prompting techniques such as zero-shot, few-shot, and chain-of-thought prompting.
- Utilise advanced techniques like retrieval-augmented generation, prompt chaining, and automatic reasoning to enhance the capabilities of LLMs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate LLMs with domain-specific knowledge and external tools.
- Conduct research and stay updated on the latest advancements in prompt engineering and LLM technologies.
- Develop and maintain documentation and guides on best practices for prompt engineering.
Requirements
- Background in software development with at least 5 years of experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of natural language processing (NLP) and LLM architectures.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering techniques and experience with LLMs such as GPT-3.5, GPT-4, Llama, and other state-of-the-art models.
- Experience with API interactions and configuring LLM settings like temperature, top-p, max length, and stop sequences.
- Knowledge of advanced prompting techniques including few-shot, zero-shot, and chain-of-thought prompting.
- Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation, prompt chaining, and other advanced prompt engineering methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about LLM behavior and performance.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience A/B Testing LLMs, systematically optimizing LLM performance and generalisability.
